The Russia Fire District, including The Village of Russia, has received notification that our ISO fire protection class has been lowered from a class 8B to a class 5 for the Village of Russia and any area within 1000 feet of a village fire hydrant. For areas beyond 1000 feet of a village hydrant, but within five road miles of the Russia Fire Station, the new rating will be a class 7. These new rates are effective 6/1/2010. Please contact your insurance provider to see how this new lower rating may affect your fire insurance rates.
The Russia Village Council would like to congratulate Chief Shappie, and the members of the Russia Fire Department for this very important accomplishment.
